Joining 'Texas Folk Now' at Blue Star This Fall

I'm honored to be included in Texas Folk Now, a group survey of contemporary Texas folk and self-taught artists opening September 12 at the Blue Star Arts Complex.

I'm sending three works, including St. Mary's Strip, the poster collage I've been layering for over a year. It feels right that a painting made out of torn-up show flyers gets to hang at Blue Star, a few blocks from where half those shows happened.

My great uncle Guy Linton showed his paintings in a converted nightclub. Fifty-some years later his nephew's kid is in a converted warehouse. The buildings change, the hustle doesn't.
