Barrio Geometry Opens at Period Modern

The new solo show is up. Eleven paintings, two years of work, and one very proud family in the room.

Barrio Geometry is open at Period Modern in Olmos Park and runs through August 15. It's the largest group of paintings I've ever shown at once — eleven canvases, including the title piece, Westside Corona, and Blue Hour on Zarzamora.

Ted and Donna gave me the whole main room. If you had told me in 2020, when I was painting in the back of an antique store just trying to keep my head above water, that this show would exist — I wouldn't have believed you. But my father would have.

The opening reception was First Friday, June 5. My brother Paul ran the grill, my sisters kept me from talking too long, and we played records until they made us stop. Come see it before it comes down. Most works are available through the gallery.
