How buying a painting works: gallery representation, available work, commissions, and caring for the paintings once they're on your wall.
Karl is represented by Period Modern in Olmos Park, San Antonio. Paintings marked 'available' in the archive can be purchased through the gallery; inquiries through this site are forwarded there unless a work is held in the studio.
Commissions are taken a few times a year, usually between shows. Karl works from conversation, not from photographs — expect a studio visit or a long phone call before any paint moves. Commission pricing follows the same scale as gallery work.
The paintings are acrylic or oil on stretched canvas or panel, varnished, and ready to hang. Keep them out of direct Texas sun — the colors are lightfast but there's no reason to test it. Every sale includes a signed certificate with the work's archive ID from this site.
